BUILDING HISTORY
Over 100 Years of Memories
The Beginning
- 1879: OCNJ is founded by a group of Methodist ministers
- 1903: Rev. James E. Lake, part of the Founding Family of OCNJ, purchases the land at 601 Atlantic Ave
- 1905: Rev. Lake builds the original structure of the home
- 1922:
The building is sold & an addition is added significantly increasing the size
Croft Hall - Atlantis Inn
- 1975: Theodore & Janina Mychailyshyn open a 30-room guesthouse called "Croft Hall"
- 2000: Kristina Mychailyshyn & Bob Doliszny renovate the property and open as the luxurious "Atlantis Inn"
- 2011:
Hotelier, Val Reyes, purchases the Atlantis Inn & continues to run it as a Bed & Breakfast
Coastal Chateau
- February 2024: A local South Jersey family purchases it from Val and plans to fully renovate the decor and branding into a luxurious castle by the sea, Coastal Chateau
- Memorial Day 2024:
The official grand opening of The Coastal Chateau, a BiteSized Boutique Hotel in OCNJ.
